A vision without a plan is only a dream.

My passion for the Welsh Mountain pony started in 1999 when I was gifted my first pony for my seventh birthday. My enthusiasm for research began that same year when I checked out horse breed books from the library trying to find Dakota's "parents". While researching, I found the highly accomplished Springbourne Caraway, which led me to the Caraway grandson, Heritage Hall Razzle Dazzle who had me hooked from the first picture. At the time, I was a 9 year old girl trying to figure out a way to buy a 2 year old stud colt who was on the other side of the country and alas it was not meant to be. However, good things come to those who wait and Razz became a permanent resident of our family in 2018 (you can read more about "Razz" here!).

Razzle started my love for the Welsh Mountain pony, and it was in 2009 when I purchased my first Registered Section A, Severn Denim 'N Fringe who is still a part of my family today.

As a kid, I would pair certain ponies up to create the "perfect pedigree" and I find it incredibly exciting to be able to have the bloodlines that I admired back then in my "real herd" today.

It has been several years in the making and fast forward to 2023, we are celebrating our 24th year of loving the breed and 14th year of owning them.

The Visionary prefix

Having loved the breed since 2001, it wasn't until 2019 that the Visionary prefix was established.

I wanted a name that really defined who I am not only as an aspiring breeder but also as an individual. I didn't have family involved in the breed, nor any farm name to carry from previous generations. A perfectionist at heart, I knew that I wanted a name that not only inspired me, but offered that excitement from my childhood dreams.

It was the words dreamer and vision that kept coming to mind and after great debate, I decided that Visionary was the perfect prefix to recognize our collective entity of

quality Section A Welsh Mountain ponies.

The logo itself was designed with a lamp in mind; we hope to be a guiding light for the future, or "carrying the torch" so to speak. One of my favorite Bible verses is "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" Psalm 119:105
