Brought to the USA from the well-known Alvesta Stud in Canada, we look forward to watching this 2023 Section A Welsh Mountain pony colt mature!
Sired by the imported stallion, *Sunwillow Alfonso who comes from a long line of athletic and beautiful ponies who are proven in halter and performance. He brings forth beautiful linebreeding that should prove invaluable to the gene pool in North America including multiple crosses to the mare Sunwillow Bernina. Sunwillow Alfonso's dam is a full sister to the highly successful stallion, Sunwillow Jubilee. You also see one of my personal favorite stallions, Dukeshill Magnum, once through his son Heniarth Quip and then a second line through Sunwillow Paris. To mention another highly successful stallion, while farther back in lineage, he is still worth mentioning, Flydon Henri Ap Pip. Not to be left out, the mares in Alfonso's pedigree have been very influential and fabulous producers of many successful ponies.
Alvaro's dam is the big moving chestnut mare with quite an impressive hip, Alvesta Gwyneth who has been a multi champion in the showring with limited showing. She is sired by imported stallion *Nerwyn Gwyn: a stallion who, prior to importation, was 2nd in his yearling class of more than 50 colts at the Royal Welsh Show in the UK. Since coming to the USA, he has been a multiple supreme champion and sire of multiple champions including the most recent 2023 USA Welsh Nationals Double Supreme Champion, Alvesta Brenin Arthur.
It is interesting that Alvaro's tail female line goes to the mare Bluebirds Just So, which is also the same tail female as the famed Young's Main Attraction (albeit, farther back in the pedigree). It is also fun to note that his sire line goes to Bengad Nepeta through of one of my very favorite stallions, Dukeshill Magnum; the same sire line as Young's Main Attraction.
